Vision 50!

Double by 50 years old

Vision 50 began as a prayer through the Covid shutdowns of early 2020. People had been cautious, some uncertain or fearful. Simultaneously, we were also nearing the end of our 2020 Vision to retool the facilities for hospitality. Given the peculiar situation we were in, the prayer was simple, “God what is next.”

Simple as the prayer was, the context of the prayer was anything but simple.

We believe the Lord answered through an Old Testament prophet, Zechariah.

“Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; even today I declare that I will restore to you double.” (Zechariah 9.12)

The Lord, through Zechariah, is appealing to those who still remain in Babylon after the captivity. The call is to return to their God-given home and to their calling as God’s own special people.  The hopes of being restored “some day” was keeping some of them from making a decision to join their fellow countrymen in the land of promise today.  Hope is a good place to rest one’s head until it becomes a shackle causing procrastination or neglect of one’s call.  Instead of chiding or rebuking, the Lord gives a promise. The promise is to double!

I cannot think of a better phrase to describe what many of us felt during covid uncertainty; prisoners of hope.  I cannot think of a better promise; twice as much!

Vision 50 begins as a faith step that we will return to our God given calling as His Church and the Lord will restore double. We are believing for a doubling in a few key areas over by our 50th anniversary in 2024. The specific areas we are believing for are:
